White Feather

At the beginning of time, the gods created six worlds. It is said that they did so because they could not agree on what type of world to create. Why could they not agree? What cataclysmic misunderstanding caused the universe to be split? What error brought about this division?

First Meeting

The gods are one massive dysfunctional family.

So, in order to get along with each other, and in order to get everyone else to shut up, six worlds were created instead of one.

The Yami-kai, the Earth-kai, the Fire-kai, the Light-kai, the Kaze-kai, and the Mizu-kai.

These worlds are populated by many different peoples. The winged Kaze-jin live in floating continents in the sky. Mizu-jin by contrast swim deep in the ocean, living in massive coral castles. The Yami-jin are ruled by the moon and are infamous hunters. Earth-jin dwell in the deserts and the mountains, the Fire-jin in the tropical jungles and lively volcanoes. The Light-jin live in the forests, living by the sun.

The six worlds connect with each other, and some believe that there is a Center to the connections, in which the gods live: the paradise of the six worlds. There the gods reside in seclusion.

It is said that sometimes the gods leave the Center and visit the worlds that they created. Those that believe this myth say that when they visit, they leave a peice of themselves in the world that they visited. That piece could be anything, a jewel, a book, or a cooking pot. These objects are sacred and cannot be touched by a mortal of the six worlds, lest they be granted a curse.

Iyashi Kirei

White Feather focuses on the journey of a travelling healer in the Light-kai, Iyashi Kirei. Gifted with the fabled "healer's touch", he travels the Light-kai in hopes to help people. He is also on a search for something. He is joined by the bright and spirited Kitsu Ne and others along his journey.

White Feather is about the natural progression of relationships of all kinds and of the characters coming to terms with and learning how to use the gifts and curses that have been bestowed upon them.
